The deadline for the inaugural UK Cloud Awards is looming

The submission deadline for the UK Cloud Awards 2014 is just over a week away. Entries close   on 24th January @ 17:00 GMT.

Visit the website (www.ukcloudawards.co.uk) to submit cloud providers, cloud projects, or cloud products.

The awards are free to enter and companies can enter as many categories as they wish. Categories include:

  • Best cloud security product
  • Best cloud storage product
  • Best cloud business continuity service
  • Best cloud management product
  • Best cloud service management suite
  • Most Innovative SMB cloud solution
  • Most innovative enterprise cloud solution
  • Most influential newcomer (ie new CSP)
  • Best IaaS provider
  • Best cloud service provider
  • Best cloud project (public sector) – open to delivery company and user
  • Best cloud project (private sector ) – open to delivery company and user
  • Best use of government’s Cloud Store
  • Best Cloud Migration Project

Talkin’ Cloud Compiles List of “Top 100 Cloud Services Providers”

Nine Lives Media’s third-annual Talkin’ Cloud 100 list is accepting submissions until March 28th. The list seeks to identify the world’s top cloud services providers, aggregators, brokerages, integrators, VARs and MSPs focused on cloud computing. If you want to get your company’s name on the list, click here to complete the survey. The results will be based on such metrics as annual cloud services revenues, percentage growth, dollar growth, cloud computing project revenues, and more. Check out last year’s winners here.

Social media: connect, appeal and engage

In the last few weeks, the role of social media has been on our minds, and we’ve started to question how many of us really use this platform to its full potential. Everyone’s signed up, but we’re wondering how many accounts stay updated, with content relevant to followers and therefore considered noteworthy…

We’ve also been contemplating how personal social media handles appear, and how they attract leads for the brand that a personal profile represents. Associating a brand with a face builds connections from person to person which are unique, relevant and interactive.
