Network Computing Awards 2013 Now Accepting Nominations

It’s time to make your nominations for the UK’s Network Computing Awards, which recognise “the solutions and the companies that have been most impressive in helping organisations function better through getting the most out of their networks.” Nominations will close on January 7th, so click here to make your nominations now. If you’re chosen as a finalist, you will be invited to attend the awards ceremony on March 14th at the Hotel Russell in London’s Russell Square. Last Chance – Deadline for TechCrunch’s Crunchies Awards tomorrow

As TechCrunch explains in the official rules for The Crunchies, “No companies are restricted from consideration.  Certain awards have specified criteria (i.e. best unfunded startup or best new startup launched in 2012) but, otherwise, all companies and products are eligible for consideration based on their business accomplishments made during calendar 2012.  Companies may be nominated for multiple award categories, and companies may win multiple awards.  There are no fees to nominate companies for consideration.”

Q.  Tell us a bit about yourself: 

I’m a cloud computing blogger and analyst – excited about what cloud can mean in terms of agility and innovation. I live in rural New Zealand on a small farm but work predominantly in the US – this dual focus is the cause of many strange tweets about sheep, but it also gives me a unique perspective on the ever-changing technology world.

Q. Tell us a little bit about your blog and its interest in the Cloud. 

I own a dozen or so small businesses and have always had to wrangle technology on a day to day basis. I’m not a technologist but a technology user and the focus of my blog is to put things in ways that real users can understand, and advocate for tools that really meet their needs
